Meet Jhamie W.

What was life like before bariatric surgery?
Before surgery, my health was a source of unhappiness for me. Due to poor learned behaviors, I had to unlearn what I didn’t want to carry into my 50s. I was taking three blood pressure medications, constantly felt fatigued, and was dissatisfied with how I presented myself to the world. I aspired to attain optimal health, and I recognized that I needed assistance.

If you put off the decision to come in for a long time, why was that? What kept you from booking a consultation?

I initiated the process in 2018, but I faced denial. Finally, in 2022, I received approval and was eager to proceed. The extended waiting period was not by choice; it was primarily due to my fear of surgery, despite my readiness for a change..

What was it like to work with the team from the start of your journey to today?

The surgery proceeded smoothly. Although there were some minor challenges that attempted to disrupt my progress, I decided to leave those issues behind me, and I am content with where I find myself today.

What is your life like now? What’s the #1 thing you love being able to do now?

I still have approximately 40 pounds to shed, but I cherish the increased energy and the sensation of having a lighter body. Prior to surgery, I did not experience any physical limitations.
