Telemedicine Appointments for Weight Loss Surgery in Panhandle, Texas

At Panhandle Weight Loss Center, we are dedicated to supporting our patients at every step of their weight loss journeys. We realize that overcoming obesity takes tremendous commitment and dedication, and sometimes it’s a struggle for our patients to find time in their busy days to come to the office to see us. Additionally, many of our patients travel to see us in Amarillo from other parts of the country—and we need to ensure that those patients receive the same level of care and support that our local patients do.

To maintain connections with each of our patients in the safest and most convenient manner possible, we are pleased to offer virtual visits with the team at our weight loss surgery center in the Panhandle.

Benefits of Telemedicine Appointments

There are so many benefits to being able to discuss your health and weight loss goals during a virtual visit to our bariatric surgery center. Thanks to our telemedicine technology, current and prospective patients can pursue many aspects of their care from the comfort of home:

  • Begin the journey to a healthier life with an initial consultation with a weight loss specialist or bariatric surgeon
  • Review test results quickly
  • Get answers to medical questions
  • Attend follow-up appointments after surgery
  • Meet insurance requirements for preoperative diet education and visits
  • Seek support and stay accountable by speaking with a registered dietician or member of their weight loss team

Frequently Asked Questions About Virtual Visits for Weight Loss Surgery

Telehealth is new to many of our patients, so we understand that they have many questions. We hope these FAQs help you feel more informed. If you have additional questions, please don’t hesitate to give us a call at (806) 677-7952 or contact us online.

Does my insurance cover the cost of virtual visits?
The majority of our patients’ insurance plans provide coverage for telehealth visits at the same rate as in-office visits.

Are virtual visits only for current patients?
At Panhandle Weight Loss Center, we are happy to meet with new and existing patients through virtual visits. For new patients, a virtual consultation is a great way to learn more about our team, our program, and the weight loss solutions we offer.

Following an initial online consultation, we can submit information to your primary care provider and can also help you begin the insurance approval process.

Telemedicine consultations are also a convenient option for the many patients who travel from out of town to work with us.

How do I connect for my online visit?
We make it as easy as possible for our patients to attend their virtual visits. Before your appointment, we will direct you to a secure app you can download. Not great with technology? Don’t worry: we’ll be happy to walk you through it!

Does telemedicine feel impersonal?
Not when you are part of our patient family! Personal connections with our patients are not only important to us as providers, but we find that maintaining a strong rapport with their weight loss team also makes patients more likely to achieve their health goals. Virtual visits are a very effective tool because they allow our patients to speak with us “face-to-face” in comfort when an office visit may be inconvenient or even impossible.
