Meet Gary H.
What was life like before bariatric surgery?
Before undergoing bariatric surgery, the most challenging aspect of my life was simply getting out of bed and starting the day. The routine involved a walk from my bed to the bathroom to take a growing list of medications, which seemed to expand with each visit to my doctor. I had initially promised myself that I wouldn’t need more than 2 or 3 medications, but there I was, taking prescriptions for gout, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, GERD, and diabetes. My greatest frustration was the constant fatigue I experienced.
If you put off the decision to come in for a long time, why was that? What kept you from booking a consultation?
I contemplated the decision to undergo weight loss surgery after my daughter had the procedure about a year before I did. While I didn’t delay the decision for an extended period, I did take the time to thoroughly research my options. After investigating all available choices, I discovered that Panhandle Weight Loss Center offered the most accommodating and cost-effective solution for my situation.
What was it like to work with the team from the start of your journey to today?
The team at Panhandle Weight Loss Center demonstrated a keen understanding of the constraints on my time and made every effort to accommodate my schedule throughout my journey. They were empathetic to the unique challenges I faced with weight management and took into consideration my personal goals and desires for this transformative experience.
What is your life like now? What’s the #1 thing you love being able to do now?
Today, my life has undergone a remarkable transformation. I can now confidently visit the gym and witness weekly improvements in how I feel and how I look. The most significant change is that I am no longer reliant on medications for diabetes, cholesterol, gout, or blood pressure. Getting up in the morning and hitting the gym have become integral parts of my daily routine, and I couldn’t be happier with the newfound freedom and health I’ve achieved.
