Meet Glenda R.
What was life like before bariatric surgery?
I struggled with health issues due to being obese. Rapid heart rate, and a few other heart issues. I was also diagnosed with severe osteoporosis and osteopenia. I suffered from 3 compression fractures in my mid back at age 55. I had issues walking and standing on my feet for long periods of time. I have pernicious anemia, and that caused malabsorption issues, which led to vitamin deficiencies. I felt defeated on my weight loss journey.
If you put off the decision to come in for a long time, why was that? What kept you from booking a consultation?
I had been considering weight loss surgery for over a year. I had tried almost every weight loss program on the market, with little or no success. I had heard so many horror stories from people who had gone to Mexico and had weight loss surgery, so I was very hesitant. With malabsorption, weight loss can seem hopeless as your body holds on to every calorie trying to absorb needed nutrients. After prayer and visiting with Dr. Neichoy and his staff I felt confident, that I had made the right choice for myself.
What was it like to work with the team from the start of your journey to today?
From the very beginning, of my weight loss journey, I have had full confidence in the team. Dr. Neichoy and his associates and staff, all hold strong Christian values. He prayed prior to doing my surgery. They have been there with honest, straight forward answers.
What is your life like now? What’s the #1 thing you love being able to do now?
It is a life change and a choice that I am thankful I made. I can now go on long walks, workout, squat and actually get back up. I can be actively involved with my grand-children and great-grandchildren. I am back to enjoying life. I would recommend the gastric sleeve, and I would absolutely recommend Panhandle Weight Loss Center.
“I can be actively involved with my grand-children and great-grandchildren.“
