Meet Brandy K.
What was life like before bariatric surgery?
I couldn’t do fun things with my children like carnival rides. I was tired all the time. I hated having to walk long distances because I was winded by the time we got to where we needed to be. My biggest frustration was finding cloths that fit, and trying to lose the weight on my own and never getting past a certain point.
If you put off the decision to come in for a long time, why was that? What kept you from booking a consultation?
My husband had the surgery in 2021 and he lost 350 lbs. I knew I wanted it done, I just was scared. In June of 2022 I decided it was time for “ME” to take the leap and go in for a consultation.
What was it like to work with the team from the start of your journey to today?
When I first met with Dr Bleu he was so easy to talk to, very encouraging, and said I’m with you every step of the way! Then Oct 2023 I went to Amarillo and met with him in person before my surgery. He was the kindest person, made the process less scary and said a prayer before we went in. On our way home he called to make sure everything was going ok, and let me know if I needed anything he was a phone call away. Now I have my visits virtual and everyone is so easy to talk to.
I can run and play with my kids, walk the entire zoo without having to stop and catch my breath. I got to go through all my old clothes and get rid of the ones that are too big. I have lost over 100 lbs since October of 2023, and I feel the best I ever have!
