Meet Tammy N.

What was life like before bariatric surgery?
I was frustrated at not being able to comfortably tie my shoes or pick something up off of the floor. I was taking Aleve or tylenol twice a day and never forgetting to take it at night just so I could sleep. We like to travel however, being comfortable in an airplane seat was impossible and embarrassing. I’m sure it was uncomfortable for my seat mates as well.

If you put off the decision to come in for a long time, why was that? What kept you from booking a consultation?

I have been thinking of Weight Loss Surgery for 15 years but would talk myself out of it because I was healthy and I should be able to get a handle on my eating. My weight continued to yoyo, 50+ pounds off then 50+ pounds back on.

What was it like to work with the team from the start of your journey to today?

Panhandle Weight Loss Center Team was great to work with. They have been doing this awhile and have lots of experience. They know what they are doing. I appreciate their continued encouraging emails and reminders of what to watch for. Follow the program and you will do great is my opinion.

What is your life like now? What’s the #1 thing you love being able to do now?

I am 6 months post surgery and have lost 70 pounds. I still have about 20 or more to go. It was about 2 or 3 months after surgery, I realized I had been forgetting to put my pain pills in my pill box. I couldn’t remember the last time I had taken an Aleve or Tylenol. I don’t feel as awkward moving around and can pick things up off of the ground without straining or giving up! I recently went on a plane trip and was able to fit into the seat and be comfortable traveling with a stranger sitting next to me. I wasn’t crowding them and didn’t have to get an extension just to get my seat belt on!
